Since 2018, employers across South Africa have chosen to measure their LGBT+ workplace inclusion through the South African Workplace Equality Index. This page records organisations that were publicly named in an official SAWEI report or cycle announcement. Entries are grouped by cycle, beginning with the most recent.
Published cycle record
Each organisation appears separately for every cycle in which it was publicly named. Entries are arranged by cycle, then recognition tier and organisation name.
Cycle-specific recognition
A historical SAWEI tier is not a current rating or a general endorsement of every aspect of an organisation’s practice. The 2026 framework is substantially broader and more evidence-led than earlier instruments, so tiers should not be compared directly across cycles.
Public naming and confidentiality
Not every participating organisation is named. Earlier cycles did not publish every participant, and later cycles may include validated anonymous submissions. This page preserves the publication and confidentiality decisions applied in each cycle.

SAWEI 2027
SAWEI 2027 registration is open. The submission portal opens on 1 September 2026. Organisations may enter at any point before the cycle closes on 31 December 2026. Independent auditing begins on 4 January 2027. Register to receive the participation brief and the next appropriate step.
